Date of the IMPS 2026 (next year)

The 34th International Munich Paper Symposium 2026 is planned for 17–19 March 2026.

IMPS 2025

Dear interested parties and former participants of the International Munich Paper Symposium.

One of the most important European paper symposia, the IMPS - INTERNATIONAL MUNICH PAPER SYMPOSIUM, took place for the 33rd time in spring 2025, from March 25 - 27, with simultaneous translation into German and English.

The theme of the conference was: "Progress in paper and board production". An exciting program was once again put together with presentations from various mills. No other conference offers such a high proportion of presentations and participants from tissue, paper and board mills.

As in the past, the conference was held as an in-person event at the Westin Grand Munich with its spacious conference rooms. Once again, a discounted room contingent was available directly at the conference hotel via the conference website. The agreed special rate, from which the organisers earned nothing, hopefully made the decision easier to comfortably stay at the conference hotel.

With up to 400 participants, the IMPS has been one of the largest international technological lecture events for paper and board in Central Europe for the past 34 years. The size of the event guarantees many discussions in a first-class atmosphere. For participants from the board and paper manufacturing industry, the printing industry and the associated supplier industries, the IMPS offers the ideal platform for producers and developers to meet. The focus of the content is not on visions and expectations, but about initial reports on improvements that have proven themselves in practice.

Participation included several 3-course menus, soft drinks and snacks, a gala dinner and up to 2 excursions. A cultural evening was also organised, this year a concert at the Residenztheater. In addition, the presentations and the conference proceedings are made available digitally to participants.

I was delighted to welcome you to the IMPS in 2025 and I would be delighted to welcome you to next year's IMPS.

Yours faithfully,
Prof. Dr. Stephan Kleemann
(the IMPS organiser)
