IMPS 2026
Dear interested parties and previous attendees of the International Munich Paper Symposium
The 34th International Munich Paper Symposium (IMPS) is scheduled to take place in Spring 2026, from the 17th to the 19th of March. This esteemed European paper symposium is of significant importance and will be conducted with simultaneous translation into both German and English.
The theme of the conference is: "Progress in paper and board production". An exciting program has once again been put together with presentations from various mills. No other conference offers such a high proportion of presentations and participants from tissue, paper and board mills.
As in the past, the conference will be held as an in-person event at the Westin Grand Munich with its spacious conference rooms. Once again, a discounted room contingent is available directly at the conference hotel via the conference website. It should be noted, however, that these are available in limited numbers and for a limited time only, so it is recommended that reservations are made well in advance. The agreed special rate, from which the organisers derive no financial benefit, should hopefully make the decision easier to comfortably stay at the conference hotel.
With up to 400 participants (without accompanying persons), the IMPS is one of the largest international technological lecture events for paper and board in Central Europe for 34 years. The size of the event guarantees many discussions in a first-class atmosphere. For participants from the board and paper manufacturing industry, the printing industry and the associated supplier industries, the IMPS offers the ideal platform for producers and developers to meet. The focus of the content is not about visions and expectations, but about initial reports on improvements that have proven themselves in practice.
Participation includes several 3-course menus, soft drinks and snacks, a gala dinner and up to 2 excursions. A cultural evening is also planned again. In addition, the presentations and abstracts will be made available digitally.
I would be delighted to welcome you to the IMPS in 2026.
Yours faithfully,
Prof. Dr. Stephan Kleemann
(the IMPS organiser)
