IMPS 2026
Dear interested parties and past attendees of the International Munich Paper Symposium,
The 34th International Munich Paper Symposium (IMPS) took place in Spring 2026, from the 17th to the 19th of March. This esteemed European paper symposium was of significant importance and was conducted with simultaneous translation into both German and English.
The theme of the conference was: "Progress in paper and board production". An exciting program had once again been put together with presentations from various mills. No other conference offered such a high proportion of presentations and participants from tissue, paper, and board mills.
As in the past, the conference was held as an in-person event at the Westin Grand Munich with its spacious conference rooms. A discounted room contingent had been available directly at the conference hotel via the conference website. The agreed special rate, from which the organisers derived no financial benefit, hopefully made the decision easier to comfortably stay at the conference hotel.
With up to 400 participants (without accompanying persons), the IMPS had been one of the largest international technological lecture events for paper and board in Central Europe for 34 years. The size of the event guaranteed many discussions in a first-class atmosphere. For participants from the board and paper manufacturing industry, the printing industry, and the associated supplier industries, the IMPS offered the ideal platform for producers and developers to meet. The focus of the content was not on visions and expectations, but on initial reports on improvements that had proven themselves in practice.
The unchanged participation fee included several 3-course menus, soft drinks and snacks, a gala dinner, and an excursion. A cultural evening had also been planned again. In addition, the presentations and abstracts were made available digitally.
It was a great pleasure to welcome you to the IMPS in 2026.
Yours faithfully,
Prof. Dr. Stephan Kleemann
(the IMPS organiser)
